Holy Al-`Abbas Shrine Cuttingt the Ribbon of Intravenous Solutions Factory and Announcing Donations to Palestine and Lebanon

Holy Al-`Abbas Shrine inaugurated, today, Wednesday, 10/16/2024, the Al-Joud Factory for intravenous solutions in the holy Karbala Governorate, in the presence of the legal custodian of the shrine, seid. Ahmed Al-Safi (may his glory last), the Iraqi Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Al-Hasnawi, religious, official and academic figures , the board of directors of the shrine, the university of Alkafeel president , Prof.Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan, and a number of officials and journalists.

    The factory is a qualitative addition to the Iraqi health sector, as it is scheduled to produce 27 million bottles of intravenous solutions annually, which contributes to meeting a large part of the need of health institutions in the country, which require more than 120 million packages annually.

   In his speech during the opening ceremony, seid. Ahmed Al-Safi (may his glory last) stressed the importance of the project : " it is quite obvious for the specialists there is a desperate need for intravenous solution factories in Iraq , as it is a daily need . This factory, with the bless of Him , produces 27 million bottles annually, and we have started marketing ." “ the factory will donate 250,000 bottles of sodium chloride and glucose solutions to the Palestinian people, and the same amount to the Lebanese people to support the health systems in these two countries, explaining that the donation will be made through the Iraqi Ministry of Health as an official channel” , added his eminence .

    For his part, the Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Al-Hasnawi, described the factory as "a qualitative leap in the path of localizing the pharmaceutical industry in Iraq," noting that the project represents a major step towards achieving drug security in the country. The factory covers  8,500 square meters, and includes 17 buildings that include production and service units, and relies on equipment and devices from the best global origins to produce more than 24 types of intravenous solutions, which enhances drug security in Iraq and greatly supports the health sector.
