Prof. Dr. Adel Habib Omran Al-Khayyat from the College of Medicine at the University of Alkafeel participated in a specialized scientific seminar organized by the Iraqi Mathematical Society in collaboration with the College of Science at the University of Kufa and the Al-Anwar Center for Lifelong Learning. The seminar, held on Saturday, September 28, 2024"Transparent Conducting Oxides (TCO): Properties and Applications” , aimed to shed light on molecular-level biological interactions using modern physical tools and techniques.

    In his lecture, Dr. Al-Khayyat highlighted the unique properties of transparent conducting oxides (TCO), which are characterized by high electrical conductivity, high visible light transparency, and significant infrared thermal reflectivity. These properties make TCOs ideal for use in photovoltaic applications such as both junction and dye-sensitized solar cells.

    Dr. Al-Khayyat also emphasized the importance of these materials in medical and biological applications, noting their potential as effective nanomaterials for medical treatments, particularly as antibiotics and anti-cancer agents. These materials offer the advantages of lower costs and fewer side effects compared to traditional treatments. The seminar was attended by a distinguished group of researchers and specialists from various scientific fields and witnessed great interest and interaction from the audience, who were keen on exploring the diverse applications of these materials.
