On Monday, 10/14/2024, the College of Pharmacy at University of Alkafeel organized a seminar on "Multiple Sclerosis", in the Sheikh Al-Balaghi Hall at the college. The seminar was presented by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Dakhil Al-Rikabi, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, in the presence of the Dean of the College , a number of faculty members and technicians.
In the Seminar , Dr. Al-Rikabi discussed the latest developments in understanding the mechanism of multiple sclerosis, which is an autoimmune disease that affects the nervous system. He also touched on the modern methods of treatment that have been developed recently, and explained that this disease comes with a significant increase in infection rates, which requires increasing awareness and in-depth research related to its mechanisms and methods of treatment.
There was a great interaction as the students asked questions related to the challenges facing doctors and researchers in dealing with this disease, and the available capabilities to mitigate its effects on patients.
Such an event represents an effort of a series of scientific activities that the college is keen to organize with the aim of enhancing knowledge and scientific research in various medical fields.
