University of Alkafeel Holding Husseini Mourning Session Monumentalizing the Martyrdom of Abu Al-Fadhl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him)

The University of Alkafeel organized its annual Husaini session on the occasion of the martyrdom of Abu Al-Fadhl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) on the 7th of Muharram. The session took place , on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the Nasir Al-Din Al-Tusi Hall at the College of Dentistry. The session was attended by deans of the colleges, their deputies, and university personnel.

    The session commenced with a recitation of the Glorious Quran by the reciter Hassan Abbas Razzaq, then there was a valuable lecture delivered by Sayyid Abdul Jabbar Al-Awadi. Certain details of the day of the martyrdom of Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) were tackled to highlight his heroic stances and sacrifices during the event of Karbala.

    The lecture delved into various aspects of Imam Al-Abbas's (peace be upon him) life, who was known for his bravery, benevolence and dedication in serving his brother Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) and his family. Sayyid Al-Awadi illustrated the Battle of Karbala and the martyrdom of Imam Al-Abbas, "Portal of Needs" designates his preparedness to fulfill the needs of people and responds to their supplications.

 

The lecture emphasized the importance of drawing lessons and inspiration from the chronicle of Imam Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) : patience, steadfastness on principles and Islamic values, and the dedication to sacrifice and martyrdom for the sake of truth and justice.

    At the conclusion of the session, the attendees raised their voices in lamentation and mourning for the martyrdom of Abu Al-FadHl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
Certain Husseini poems were recited, expressing the meanings of sacrifice and devotion that Imam Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) exemplified in the Battle of Karbala. The hearts shed tears, and the minds recalled these painful moments.
