The college of Medicne at the University of Alkafeel conducted the final clinical skills examination for sophomore students on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The exam took place in the Clinical Skills Laboratory hall under the supervision of the college dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Samer Maki Al-Hakkak, vice-deans for academic and administrative affairs , the participation of professors from internal medicine, surgery and specialists.
This examination is a part of an ongoing developmental approaches to assessing students' practical and theoretical skills in medicine. The OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) method is an effective means of evaluating students' performance practically as they interact with patients and assessing their clinical knowledge.
The test includes multiple stations that students pass through, divided into groups, moving from one station to another simulating various medical cases. The stations include clinical examinations, data interpretation, communication skills, emergencies, and questioning by instructors to assess students scientifically and practically.
This step is considered an important part of providing high-quality medical education and developing students' skills in the field of medicine, contributing to achieving the goals of medical education and preparing a generation of qualified doctors to face future challenges.
