The College of Medicine at University of Alkafeel hosted a workshop on Wednesday, 6/3/2024, titled "How to Communicate Effectively with Patients." Aimed the medical students, the workshop was designed to enhance their communication skills with patients and effectively manage different cases. The main lecture was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarmad Nadim, a consultant from the College of Medicine at the University of Manchester. Nadim covered theoretical and practical aspects of effective patient communication, including the necessity of respecting patient privacy, and maintaining the confidentiality of their information. The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Asst. Prof. Dr. Samer Maki Al-Hakak, his vice-dean for administrative affairs , Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Najeh Al-Awadi, and the college's teaching staff. The lecture emphasized important aspects such as obtaining patient consent before surgical procedures, ensuring patient confidentiality, and maintaining privacy. The workshop concluded with all participants affirming the importance of respect and effective communication with patients and adhering to ethical and legal standards in healthcare.
