An intellectual lecture was  on "Intolerance: A Fundamental Principle of Ideological Extremism" supported by the esteemed Rector of University of Alkafeel, Prof. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shaheed Al-Dahan. The lecture was held by the Department of Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation  in collaboration with the Iraqi National Center for Documenting Extremism Crimes under the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs affiliated with Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, and under the Center at University of Alkafeel on Saturday, 2/12/2023. The lecture was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Raedh Abbas from the University of Kufa, representing the Iraqi National Center. This event is part of the strategic plans for intellectual and cultural awareness in the university environment, which University of Alkafeel emphasizes to spread the values of moderation, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, and to prevent and address the effects of extremist thought, encouraging scientific initiatives and research in intellectual issues. Aiming to create a shared space for dialogue, understanding, and exchange of ideas on a number of important topics, the researcher presented in his paper the concept of intolerance, which is the opposite of tolerance, indicating that there are twenty real conditions about intolerance that underlie ideological extremism. He explained the types of extremism, its methods, and causes, such as religious, cultural, moral, political, social, ethnic, behavioral, and economic extremism, providing examples of intolerance and various social practices that lead to a decrease in the level of tolerance on both the Arab and Western world levels. In conclusion, University of Alkafeel , lifelong learning centre,  presented a certificate of appreciation.
